From Land to Ocean: Jiva Catalyst Foundation Empowers Youth and Communities for a Sustainable Future
Jakarta, Indonesia — 6 June 2026 In commemoration of World Environment Day and World Ocean Day 2026, Jiva Catalyst Foundation successfully organized “From Land to Ocean”, a youth-centered environmental initiative aimed at raising awareness about the connection between land-based activities and ocean health while encouraging collective action for a more sustainable future.
Held at Carnival Beach, Ancol, Jakarta, the event brought together 60 participants, including selected attendees, volunteers, committee members, and invited guests, in a collaborative effort to learn, engage, and contribute to environmental conservation.
Indonesia is home to one of the world’s richest marine ecosystems. However, environmental challenges such as plastic pollution, waste leakage, and unsustainable consumption patterns continue to threaten both terrestrial and marine environments. Since much of the waste entering rivers and oceans originates from activities on land, environmental stewardship requires collective responsibility and action.
With the theme “For the Planet, For the Future,” the program was designed to help participants understand the interconnected relationship between land and ocean ecosystems while empowering them to become active contributors to environmental solutions within their communities.
