Rooting the Future: Earth Day 1000 Trees Planting by Jiva Catalys Foundation
In commemoration of Earth Day 2026, Jiva Catalys Foundation organized an initiative titled “Rooting the Future: Earth Day 1000 Trees Planting” on Saturday, April 25, 2026. The activity took place in Parung Panjang Village, Kampung Somang RT 03/RW 03, involving 100 selected participants who had undergone a prior selection process.
This 1,000-tree planting program serves as a concrete step toward environmental conservation, while also marking the official launch of Jiva Catalys Foundation. The planting was carried out across three designated locations that had been prepared in advance.
The initiative was supported by various stakeholders, including the Forestry Office, BPDAS Citarum Ciliwung, Persemaian Rumpin, BNI Life, (UFP) Kelompok Tani Parung Panjang, local government authorities, PKK community members, and local residents. This collaboration reflects a strong synergy between communities, government institutions, and the private sector in preserving the environment.
The event began with an opening session, followed by remarks from the Founder of Jiva Catalys Foundation, Mayalyn. In her speech, she expressed appreciation to all contributors and emphasized the foundation’s commitment, since its establishment in November last year, to delivering sustainable programs, including upcoming initiatives for World Environment Day.
Remarks were also delivered by the Head of Parung Panjang Subdistrict, Drs. Chairuka Judhyanto Nugroho, M.Si., who highlighted the importance of tree planting as a form of environmental responsibility. He emphasized the vital role of plants in producing oxygen and maintaining ecological balance.
Kang Juna, representative and Head of (UFP) Kelompok Tani Parung Panjang, expressed hope that the initiative would become a long-term contribution benefiting the local community. He also reaffirmed the group’s commitment to supporting ongoing environmental programs.
Support was further extended by Persemaian Rumpin, Ministry of Forestry, represented by Marlina. She appreciated the initiative and shared that Persemaian Rumpin has produced more than 17 million seedlings since 2021 as part of the national reforestation program. She also emphasized the importance of post-planting maintenance to ensure long-term impact.
As a symbolic start to the main activity, seedlings were handed over from Jiva Catalys Foundation to (UFP) Kelompok Tani Parung Panjang. This was followed by a group exercise session to build energy and togetherness before participants proceeded to the planting process.
During the main activity, participants were divided into several groups to carry out tree planting across designated locations. This initiative represents a tangible form of cross-sector collaboration in supporting environmental sustainability.
More than just a ceremonial event, “Rooting the Future: Earth Day 1000 Trees Movement” serves as an important momentum to build collective awareness of environmental responsibility. Jiva Catalys Foundation hopes this movement will continue and inspire broader participation in environmental conservation efforts.
As the closing of the event, all participants recited the Earth Guardians Pledge, symbolizing a shared commitment to protecting the environment not only through planting activities, but also through daily actions such as reducing waste and conserving energy.
Through this pledge, participants are reminded that environmental responsibility does not end with this event. Each individual is encouraged to maintain long-term awareness in caring for the planted trees and preserving the surrounding ecosystem.
Moving forward, Jiva Catalys Foundation is committed to providing updates on the progress of the planted trees as part of its transparency and accountability efforts. This initiative is not only part of Earth Day commemoration, but also the beginning of a long-term commitment to nurturing a more sustainable future.
